So sadly I came home from the best week ever of my life...12 hours ago I got back from my trip to Massachusetts...if you ever get the chance to go don't stay in Boston...they charge out the ass. We stayed in a town called Sturbridge mainly because my mom had a two day class at the Publick House Historic Inn. It’s this really neat place. The main building was built in 1771...it's really creaky and has this really old musty type smell which it awesome for me ^_^ The rest of it was built in the 1970's.Creepy thing about the whole place is that it's right next to a cemetery which is conveniently where the swings are...it was pretty cool though lol xP So the first day that we got there we went to breakfast and then died. The next day we went to Old Sturbridge Village which is this working village from the 1700's. They have houses from that time there with people that work as "villagers". At their craft house that day you could make a tin candle holder, a paper fire screen or do what I did...make a piece of pottery...needless to say it didn't turn out so well ^_^ But no worries my new buddy Dan the Pottery Guy helped me out...so it looked somewhat like some kind of bowl lol For the next two days my mom had her class...luckily one of her friends from work came with us. We were supposed to go to the 6 Flags there but we decided not to...instead we went to the New England Aquarium which is at the Boston Harbor...so we drove to the nearest train station...which was like 30 minutes away in Newton got on the green line, took it to Gov't Station, got on the blue line and got off the third stop and BAM!!! We were there...and it only cost us $2 to get there and to get back...all together it cost like $24 for the trip and Aquarium...minus the $3.50 for toll back and forth xP The day after that on Friday we had breakfast at the Inns Bake Shoppe...I recommend their Elephant Ear with their Hazelnut mixed with Vanilla coffee ^_^ All for under $5.00...and it was really frickin' good too lol That night I went down to the swings for about 5 minutes and all of the sudden I heard thunder and there were flashes of lightening. So I started walking down the driveway and this fricking huge gust of wind blew and it got really dark. I got in just in time when it started down pouring. So I went to where my moms class was and they were talking about something…about a half hour later we got a ride back to our room…by that time the storm had passed so we went somewhere for dinner came back, watched TV for awhile and went to bed. The next day my mom went to her last day of the class and her friend and I hung around the room. We went and had breakfast at the Cracker Barrel which is good for breakfast once in awhile but my moms friend insisted that we eat there for breakfast and lunch…I on the other hand almost killed her the last day and had breakfast at the Bake Shoppe again because I LOVE it!!!!!Back to Friday…after we had breakfast and hung around the room we decided to go swimming for a couple of hours….and let me tell you…that water was fucking cold until you got used to it which was never for me lol We the proceeded to figure out what we wanted for dinner…and where did we go? The fucking Cracker Barrel *gags* Then I went down again to the swings while moms friend read for awhile…thankfully it didn’t rain again lol So I swung for a good hour and a half and then decided to go bug mom. Her class had just finished when I got there and her two new friends wanted to go down to Ebenezer’s Tavern(located on the bottom floor of the Inn) for a drink…so we went and they talked and laughed and sipped at their drinks…I on the other hand was falling asleep due to the fact that it was almost 1 in the morning. So I said that I was tired and mom said that we needed to go to bed because we were going into Boston the next day (Saturday). So they gave a ride back to our room and we died. The next morning we got up, got ready, ate at the fucking Cracker Barrel AGAIN and left for the Riverside Train Station in Newton. We almost missed out train but thankfully the people are nice back there and saw us running for it and they stopped to let us on…Go Massachusians ^_^ So we got to Boston and let me tell you…it was fucking hot. The news said that it was 97 with 60% humidity making it feel like we were on the face of the damn sun. But anyways…my mom went there last year and said that the best way to see Boston Tourist style was to take one of the trolleys around the city…NO…the best way to see Boston and it’s oh so beautiful sites is to hoof it and walk. Never mind if it’s hot…the fucking trolley that we took let us off almost half a mile away from the laces you were supposed to get off at…bastard.Anyways…we did the tourist thing and went and saw Boston and took loads of pictures. Half way through the trip we got hungry and we went to the Hard Rock CafĂ© which was conveniently located next to Quincy Market and Faneuil Hall. So we got off at that stop and went in there for a drink and to cool off. Well…while we were there their City Chase was going on. City Chase is pretty much like The Great Race but not televised. They have this list of stuff they have to do in the city and they have to document it with video or picture. So while we were waiting for my moms friend to get done with the bathroom for the millionth time, this guy came up to us and was like…”You look like you two could use a hug. Could you wear this Boston Red Socks hat while I hug you and it gets filmed” Of course we say yes…so somewhere out there is a video if this guy giving my mom and I a hug wearing Boston hats lol By the time we were through with doing the Boston and Cambridge area…mommy dearest friend wanted to go and see Harvard So we took the Blue Line and got off at the Harvard stop. It was pretty fun going and looking around at the campus…wouldn’t want to go there personally but it was nice. Snapped some pictures. I even whined abit…and we went back to the Riverside train Station. And mommy dearest’s friend was hungry again…where do you think we went for dinner? You guessed right…the fucking Cracker Barrel. I never want to go to one of those fucking things ever again even if my life depended on it. The next day moms friend was getting picked up by one of her friends and they went of to a family gathering or whatever it was so mom and I had the day to ourselves. So we went to the Bake Shoppe and had breakfast, talked to the room manager who mom became friends with last year and then went swimming again. Which was fine with me since it was getting pretty warm at the time and us not knowing that it was going to rain for five minutes while we were down there lol. Then at about 4:30 or so we dried off and got dressed and went down to the Tavern for dinner…let me tell you…their dinners are AWESOME…we both had the Turkey Dinner…I did not know that they make sweet stuffing…I immediately spit it out and downed my glass of water…the rest of it was pretty good though…you get light and dark meat which is uncommon here in California…usually we just get light xP For dessert mom had apple cake and I decided to try their apple pie which I didn’t know they put cheddar cheese on…all in all it was quit tasty…even if it did have cheese on it xP The Monday we ventured up to Salem…the witch capitol of the world…funny…I though that was located at my house and next door to me har har har…anyways…we did the tourist thing like in Boston but this one was better and cheaper. I got a Boston shirt there for only $5...which I thought was a really good price for a shirt in Salem…then we went and took pictures at the end of our trolley rides…we dressed as witches…I’ll put up pictures of the Aquarium,Boston,Harvard and Salem whenever I get around to it…it takes awhile you know. So other than that and the plane ride….I had a really great time going. Mom said that we’re going back just the two of us next August. I tell ya man…I really almost didn’t come back I loved it so much. I’m actually really thinking about moving to Sturbridge(or around there) and working at the Village or Inn. I think that I finally found the town for me…it’s not liberal, the people are nice, it’s small, quiet, not far from many places, they’re always looking for people to work somewhere there and most of all…Dan the Pottery guy is there ^_^ Dan was cute…he had that Amish type beard going on and had brown eyes and was nice and smelt like clay and orange blossom soap…an all around good guy he was *sigh* I miss him…but I’ll see him next year so I can better improve my pottery making skills…if he still works there of course..if he doesn’t then the Village lost my $10 and good comments xP Next off …my Berkeley City College experience…stay tuned in people…Cheers,Megan ;P
